Project Description:

Providing consulting services for the components of Mokha Port and ensuring its rehabilitation to be able to receive ships and goods in a scientific, practical, and safe manner, taking into account its operation According to the best international practices and standards for operating commercial ports.

Phase I:  Technical assessment and studies:

Reviewing and updating the technical studies to develop Mocha Port and prepare new designs related to the port, The goal of these services is to have a clear vision of the current status of the Port components to achieve the needs of the development from receiving ships and cargos safely and efficiently with the international practices and laws for ports.

  • Conduct a Structural assessment study to determine the structural integrity of the design sector of the docks and port components, and verify their readiness to receive cargo loads and ships after completing the port rehabilitation work, while preparing drawings, plans, and tables of quantities to qualify the various port components.
  • Conduct a Metocean study to determine the natural phenomena affecting the region in terms of the speed and directions of the prevailing winds and waves, their heights and directions, and tidal levels.
  • Conduct a hydrodynamic study based on which the safe length of the breakwater is determined to prevent sediments from forming again in front of the piers and the circulation circle, and to determine the depth of the shipping lane after development.
  • Conduct a study of the movement of sediments in the port area to study and determine the sufficient and safe length of the breakwater necessary to prevent the re-formation of sediments in front of the docks.
  • Underwater investigation and inspection below the surface of the water showing the condition of all the structural elements of the existing piers and the current breakwater to assess the structural condition of the breakwater and the maintenance and development work it needs.

Phase II:  Master plan and Infrastructure development (onshore and offshore)

  • Conducting an economic feasibility study to develop the port in a manner consistent with the various development options and the current status of the various components of the port
  • Conducting a structural study to determine the structural safety of the current design sector of the docks and breakwaters and verify their readiness to receive the loads of goods and ships planned to receive them.
  • Preparing the master plan for the offshore (ducks, wave breakers, and fish landings)
  • Preparing the master plan for the onshore (buildings, facilities, infrastructure)
  • Preparing concept design for the onshore and offshore facilities.

Phase III:  detailed design and tender documents (onshore and offshore)

  • Detailed design of the ducks, wave breakers, and fish landings
  • Detailed design for (onshore) buildings
  • Detailed design for (onshore) Infrastructure
  • Preparing BoQ, Cost estimates and tender documents
