Narrative Description of Project:
The consultancy services aimed to establish the guidelines for conducting the international public tender for the contracting of consulting services to prepare the final project design, tender documents, and the supervising construction of Angoche Fishing Port. It follows the Feasibility Study that was prepared in November 2016 for the construction of a new fishing port in Angoche.
The proposed project “Angoche Fishing Port Construction Project contemplates the following infrastructures:
- A berthing jetty construction for artisanal, industrial, and semi-industrial boats, including an open storage area, parking, and roads.
- A processing area & cold storage facility which includes cold rooms, blast freezing rooms, an ice plant, and refrigerated containers.
- Repair workshop for equipment.
- Local fish market where the fish will be auctioned at the ship repair slipway and workshop.
- Utility building, administration building with equipment and furniture, fence control gate building, firefighting facilities, water supply facilities, sewage systems, fuel supply system, and external works.
- Electricity power building including distribution substation standby generator (500) and fuel storage.
One of the main components of the project is Training and Capacity Building:
MIMAIP considers this assignment as an opportunity to train many relevant staff by attaching them to the Consultant’s team as counterpart staff. The training structure will consist of on-the-job training and Training in Project Management.
The consultant’s training program Focused on the following special aspects:
Ensure technology transfer to MIMAIP staff during engineering design and supervision;
- The training program includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Project cycle management and project organization Capacity development
- Project economy and Financial Conflicts management
- Monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance
Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff:
The company provided the following services:
- Review and update the feasibility study related to the Fishing market and port.
- Topographical and bathymetric Survey
- Preparation of detailed Engineering Design for the port facilities, Fishing landings, and the fish market including infrastructure, complementary facilities (commercial, security, administrative)
- Flood assessments and risk analysis.
- Tender Documents.
- Training and Capacity Building
- Construction Supervision services for the port and all infrastructure components including the establishment of water supply lines and validation of District Metering Areas (DMAs Inspection, during the defects liability stage.
