We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Development Specialist with a solid foundation in the construction industry. This role will focus on identifying, qualifying, and supporting the development of new business opportunities, particularly with international agencies and clients. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, data-driven analysis, and effective relationship-building skills to contribute significantly to our international growth.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Opportunity Support:
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the construction sector, with a strong focus on international agencies (e.g., World Bank, UN agencies, development banks) and private clients.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to inform business development strategies and identify emerging trends.
- Generate and qualify leads through strategic networking, industry events, and targeted outreach initiatives.
- Contribute to the creation of compelling presentations, proposals, and tender documents for potential clients.
- Support the negotiation of contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
- Maintain consistent and effective follow-up on leads and opportunities, fostering strong client relationships.
- Assist in building and nurturing long-term relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Contribute to the development of market entry strategies for new international markets.
Data Gathering & Analysis:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret market data, industry trends, and client information to identify potential business opportunities and areas for growth.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to assess market potential, identify target client segments, and evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of potential clients, partners, and market intelligence.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on market analysis, business development activities, and performance metrics.
- Leverage data insights to optimize business development efforts and improve decision-making.
International Agency & Client Liaison:
- Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with key contacts at international agencies, development banks, and private clients.
- Assist in representing the company at international conferences, trade shows, and industry events, promoting our capabilities and expertise.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the procurement processes, regulations, and requirements of international agencies and clients.
- Support the development of tailored strategies to effectively engage with diverse international clients and stakeholders.
- Assist in managing communication and collaboration with international partners, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in all international interactions, fostering trust and building rapport.
Reporting & Administration:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all business development activities, including lead tracking, client interactions, and proposal submissions.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular reports on progress towards business development goals, highlighting key achievements and challenges.
- Provide timely and accurate information on market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to management.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of marketing materials, sales tools, and online resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in business development within the construction industry, with a focus on international markets.
- Proven ability to contribute to the securing of new business opportunities and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, including project management, engineering, and procurement.
- Proficient in data gathering, analysis, and interpretation, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, partners, and industry contacts.
- Understanding of international business practices, cultural differences, and global market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; fluency in additional languages is highly desirable.
