Narrative Description of Project:

  • Preparing Master Plan, detailed plan, and design of the infrastructure for a business and logistic district as well as residential area, through Structure Plan concept development including mapping and identification of key infrastructure components. The project includes multi-specialty business and logistic zones and a residential area and it includes replanning of the upgrading sites (informal settlements).
  • infrastructure development strategy, pre-design studies followed by Master Plan and infrastructure design based on state-of-the-art technology and high standards and planning regulations on approximately 4700 hectares.
  • Assessment of the risks and implementation of a structured plan including legal, political, and financial risks)
  • The project is integrated into the general master plan of Sulimani City for future developments and expansion plans.
  • Training and Capacity building for the Client’s officials after evaluation of their capabilities including Workshops and Training Program.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Your Staff:

Preparation of the master plan of Sulimani City. The Tasks included but were not limited to the following:

  • Physical mapping: Comprehensive Survey and GIS Mapping for the project area and
  • Conduct training for the Client’s Officials on the operation of the Monitoring and Control Systems (Capacity building).
  • Physical Spatial planning includes land use, urban, regional, transport, and environmental planning
  • Prepare detailed plans for a residential and business district, incorporating a multiplicity of activities and uses. The works included but were not limited to preparing details plans for the CBD central business districts
  • Prepare development layout and engineering designs for the water supply, storage, and firefighting water networks, in addition to sanitation systems and networks of 5000 HA and app 50,000 households.
  • Assist the client and the BOT investor in selecting the best locations of the wastewater treatment plants on the project’s site.
  • Conducting socio-economic and environmental assessments.
  • Prepare development layout and engineering designs for the storm drainage system

The project will undergo two interconnected phases as follows:

  • Phase one: Pre-design study: Preparing a complete pre-design study for the proposed project covering all aspects of architectural, engineering, project management, and operational planning issues.
  • Phase two: Based on the pre-design study, a comprehensive physical master plan will be prepared for the project.
