Head of MEP Department

The Head of the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Department at HS Group will lead and oversee all aspects of MEP design, execution, and maintenance for projects across the organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance in MEP services, while driving innovation and sustainable practices. The Head of MEP will collaborate closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership:

   • Develop and implement the MEP strategy, aligning with HS Group’s organizational goals.
   • Provide expert guidance on MEP systems and solutions for large-scale projects.
   • Drive sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient practices in MEP designs and operations.

2. Project Management:

   • Lead the planning, design, and execution of all MEP components for construction projects.
   • Ensure timely delivery of MEP systems within budget and quality standards.
   • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions.

3. Technical Excellence:

   • Oversee the preparation and review of MEP designs, specifications, and drawings.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
   • Stay updated on advancements in MEP technologies and integrate innovative solutions.

4. Team Leadership and Development:

   • Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary MEP team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
   • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for the team.
   • Promote continuous learning and professional development within the department.

5. Collaboration and Coordination:

   • Work closely with architects, civil engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
   • Act as the primary liaison for clients and external consultants on MEP matters.
   • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among internal and external teams.

6. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

   • Implement robust quality control processes to ensure excellence in MEP services.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits of MEP works on-site.
   • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

7. Budgeting and Resource Management:

   • Prepare and manage budgets for MEP activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
   • Optimize resource allocation and utilization for maximum efficiency.
   • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive terms.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in MEP design, execution, and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, and regulations.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Certification in project management or sustainable practices is a plus.
