We are seeking a highly qualified Supervision Consultant Engineer to oversee the execution of a major construction project in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in engineering supervision on medium to large-scale infrastructure or building projects. This role involves ensuring that the works are executed in accordance with the contract documents, design specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise and monitor all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards. Qualifications and Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master\u2019s preferred). Preferred Certifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Membership in a recognized engineering body (e.g., FE, PE, COREN, or equivalent).
\n\u2022 Review and approve contractor submittals, method statements, materials, and shop drawings.
\n\u2022 Ensure that construction activities are in accordance with the contract documents and project schedule.
\n\u2022 Coordinate with the contractor, client, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
\n\u2022 Lead site inspections and prepare detailed supervision reports on work progress and quality.
\n\u2022 Identify and report any deviations or non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
\n\u2022 Ensure implementation of safety procedures and standards at the site.
\n\u2022 Assist in evaluating contractor claims, variations, and progress payments.
\n\u2022 Provide technical advice and support to the client and project team.
\n\u2022 Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in construction supervision, including experience on international projects.
\n\u2022 Proven experience working with supervision consultants or engineering firms on major projects.
\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.
\n\u2022 Familiarity with Mauritanian or West African construction regulations and conditions is an advantage.
\n\u2022 Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English is a plus.
\n\u2022 Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
\n\u2022 Proficient in using engineering and project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera).
\n\u2022 Willingness to be based full-time in Nouakchott, Mauritania.<\/p>\n
