Project Description

Aden Gate or Aqaba Aden is one of the historical land crossings that connects the historic city of Aden (Crater) to the city of Al-Mukalla from the west. Aqaba is located at the end of the Great Tunnel (Al-Baghdah Al-Kabira). The Gate of Aden is located at the bottom of Mount Al-Takr, and it is called (Bab Al-Barr).

The old stone gate has collapsed over time and needs to be restored through structural engineering intervention to rebuild the shoulders of the gate and the two small towers standing on its two ends, with the necessity of constructing an arch between the shoulders. Mechanisms for developing the historical site to become a historical shrine will be studied. This includes developing the natural landscape on the site while preserving its historical dimension and developing it. Infrastructure at the project site and arranging a walkway to reach it.

The main objective of the services will be to conduct studies of the project site and develop proposed development scenarios, along with carrying out topographical survey work to determine the boundaries of the project site and preparing preliminary architectural, structural, and electromechanical designs, along with making landscape plans and the necessary infrastructure to operate the project.

The final architectural, structural, and electromechanical designs will be prepared, and then tables of quantities and estimated costs will be prepared to complete the targeted restoration and development works.

The consultant’s work will include preparing 3D renderings and preparing a video showing the final prepared design.
