Project Description
The Cultural Center is located in a vibrant area in the heart of Aden, Yemen, with a site area of approximately 8,969.7 square meters. The center has a festive, welcoming character and is a unique architectural landmark, considered a vital element among the city’s main features.
The buildings are arranged in a way that forms an urban fabric encompassing an urban space represented by the outdoor theater. This allows the external spaces to interact harmoniously with the internal ones, enabling visitors to engage in all activities within a cohesive composition that blends enclosed interiors with open exteriors. This diversity in spaces aims to enrich the educational and creative content for visitors, providing them with enjoyment and benefit as they explore and participate in the project’s various activities.
The architectural design takes into account the special value of the project’s function, making it an icon and a significant landmark in the city through architectural treatments and site landscaping. The external areas are designed as gathering squares and living spaces catering to all age groups, with a dedicated side area for children’s play. The project is characterized by transparency achieved through the formation of blocks and spaces that allow green courtyards to intertwine with the buildings’ material fabric, seamlessly connecting the interior with the exterior.
